My friend Katie recs:

Organixx is a good place for breakfast/lunch and is close-ish to convention center. Best of this list for getting a quick bite.

Vegetarian or green restaurant suggestions

My favorite website is Happy Cow, + like the Watercourse restaurant, not too far from the hotel.

If I get a chance, I'll build a map like this into the web site right before the conference!

Amtrak to Denver, side trips?

Who's taking the Zephyr to or from Denver? 18 hours from Chicago, a little over 30 from the Bay. Add a comment if you'd like to travel with other GMIC members.
